CONDITIONS
Hand & Wrist pain can be caused by an injury or condition that affects the joints, tendons, ligaments, muscles or bones in that area. Many things could contribute to this pain, including: playing sports, overuse of the arm, manual labor duties, or trauma-related injuries. A patient with a hand/wrist injury may complain of stiffness, swelling in the area, pain with movement or at rest, difficulty gripping things, weakness or numbness/tingling. Additionally, issues at the cervical spine (neck) can often cause referred pain & symptoms in the hand. A physical therapist will provide differential diagnosis on the location and cause of the pain, and tailor the treatment approach accordingly.
